NT authorised to expand 'optical fiber network' to mid-hill zone

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Nepal Telecom (NT), the state-owned telecommunications provider, has got authority to expand the 'optical fiber network' to 32 districts along the Mid-Hill (Pushpalal) Highway.

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Nepal Telecom (NT), the state-owned telecommunications provider, has got authority to expand the 'optical fiber network' to 32 districts along the Mid-Hill (Pushpalal) Highway. 


The Company and Nepal Telecommunications Authority today signed an agreement towards this end in the presence of Information and Communications Secretary Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya.

The agreement that will remain in force for the next two years has given permission to the NT to install high-speeding optical fiber on 2,376 kilometers of area stretching from Chiwabhanjyang of Panchthar to Salyantar of Dhading. 


Authority Chair Digambhar Jha and NT Managing Director Kamini Rajbhandari signed on the agreement on behalf of respective sides. 


On the occasion, Secretary Thapaliya expressed his belief that the agreement would prove a milestone in the development of broadband networks. RSS
