NSU students vandalize Lumbini Commerce Campus

RUPANDEHI, Sept 26: Nepal Students Union (NSU) has vandalized Lumbini Commerce Campus before setting a fire to it.

NSU, Lumbini Commerce Campus Unit vandalized the college by accusing it of appointing 11 teachers and staffers.

Students affiliated to NSU led by Suraj Chhetri, NSU President of the Campus Unit, barged into the office of Campus Chief Tara Prasad Upadhyaya and started vandalizing office assets including table, window and other materials and set a fire to Upadhyaya’s chair after dousing it in kerosene.

They had entered the Campus Office’s office saying that they would submit a memorandum of dissent on the appointment of teachers and other staffers in the college. 

Upadhyaya’s Scorpio vehicle was also vandalized in the incident.

However, the campus executive committee has said that the teachers were appointed based on the notice issued on August 25.
