KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Director of Nepal Republic Media Limited (NRM) Shova Gyawali has been elected as the president of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs' Associations of Nepal (FWEAN).
Gyawali was elected unopposed as the new president by the 20th General Assembly and 9th General Convention of the FWEAN held in the capital on Friday.
Gyawali, who was previously the first vice president of the FWEAN, is also an executive committee member of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

According to the FWEAN, the entire working committee, including President Gyawali, was elected unopposed.
Under the leadership of Gyawali, the newly-formed FWEAN Working Committee consists of Niru Rayamajhi Khatri (outgoing president), Darshana Shrestha (first vice president), Sunita Vaidya Shrestha (second vice president), Basanti Pradhan (third vice president) and Mahalakshmi Shrestha (fourth vice president).
Similarly, Kunnam Pokharel has been elected as the general secretary of the federation, while Sumitra Palanchoke and Sabita Subedi have been elected as secretary and treasurer, respectively.
Hima Bista, Nita Regmi, Shobha Shrestha, Dikila Sherpa Lama, Deepa Thapalia, Sarita Tuladhar, and Pratibha Pandey have been elected as executive members. Similarly, Soni Joshi, Kriti Shrestha, Savita Paudel, Rajkumari Sharma, Parvati Paudel, Meena Phulara and Sheela Nepali have been elected as executive committee members.
The FWEAN has nominated Nisha KC and Mallika Shrestha as members, while Rewati Singh, Sunita Pandey, Tulasi Shah and former FWEAN President of Rukum (East) Tirtha Pun have been picked as executive committee members.
