KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Rotary International District 3292 felicitated 100 women leaders amidst a special function in the capital.
They were felicitated at a function organized to release a book entitled 'Hundred Women Stories', which contains stories of top 100 women leaders in different parts of Nepal, in the capital on Saturday.

Sunita Dangol, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, inaugurated the program to honor 100 women leaders at Aryan Boutique in Hattisar, Kathmandu. Sunita Dangol, Dr Anjan Shrestha, Dr Mala Kharel, Director of Nepal Republic Media Limited (NRML) Shova Gyawali, Shanta Baskota, Sunita Nemafuki, Kabita Pandey, Urmila Shrestha and other hundred women leaders from various fields were honored.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Mayor of KMC Sunita Dangol said that the need of today is to promote women in leadership positions. She mentioned that all 32 wards in Kathmandu Metropolitan City have only male ward chairpersons, and said that women should also come as ward chairpersons in the upcoming elections.
Sumira Shrestha, editor of the book Hundred Women's Stories, said that the book was published in English to make the stories of hundreds of women known around the world.
Sushma Sharma, who conceptualized the book and the event, said that stories are important to learn the hardships and struggles and achievements of successful women leaders. She also argued that their successes and hardships could serve lessons to the emerging entrepreneurs.
