Ten people were killed and two others were rescued alive when an overcrowded jeep veered off the road into the Tholo Bheri River in Dolpa.The jeep, Bhe 1 Cha 1610 was en route to Supani from Dunai, the district headquarter. The passenger jeep veered 50 meters off the road at Kala Gowda. The jeep's driver and a passenger are undergoing treatment at District Hospital.
Amid increasing public frustration towards the KP Sharma Oli led government's failure to trigger development, Pushpa Kamal Dahal claimed that it would soon change. Nepal Communist Party's chairperson, Dahal said that the government would soon be appreciated for its work while interacting with journalists at Biratnagar airport. He added that the government had already framed its long-term policies. "Once we start implementing the programs, the government will gain popularity."
Tihar, the second largest festival of Nepali Hindus is beginning from today. Also known as Yam Panchak, the festival is observed for five days. The first day of Yam Panchak is observed as Kaag Tihar by feeding crows, regarded as messengers in Nepali society. The second day is Kukur Tihar — the day is observed worshipping dogs. The third day is Gai Tihar and Laxmi Puja worshipping cows and Laxmi, the goddess of wealth.
Nepal's stock exchange will trade online from tomorrow following the direction of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), the regulator of securities market. Investors will now be able to trade shares from anywhere that has internet connection. The online platform had been on trial since the very first day of the current fiscal year.

The air quality deteriorated a day after Delhiites breathed easy on Sunday after air quality significantly improved due to increased wind speed and control measures implemented by the government. On Sunday, a total fine of Rs 83,55,000 was imposed on violators by the teams deployed to monitor implementation of measures to combat pollution in the Delhi-NCR under the campaign.
A statue of Mohamed Salah recently unveiled in his native Egypt has been ridiculed for its freakish ‘likeness’ to the Liverpool forward, with fans insisting it bears more resemblance to Marv from the popular movie Home Alone. The strange statue, which went on display at the World Youth Forum in Sharm El Sheikh and was created by Mai Abdel Allah, depicts a miniature Salah with outstretched arms, tiny smiling features and huge mop of hair.
