Expressing concern over shrinking public space due to growing encroachment of public lands in Kathmandu, thousands of people in Kathmandu launched a demonstration at Khulla Manch at the heart of the capital to join the 'Occupy Tundikhel' campaign which started on Saturday.
The Sudur Paschim provincial government is organizing a finance conference here on December 6.
The objective of the conference is to attract more investment in the province. The Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers informed that the government has decided to organize the Financial Conference as proposed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning.
Police have arrested 16 leaders and cadres of outlawed Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplab’-led Nepal Communist Party from Majhpali of Gaumul rural municipality-3.
A team of police deployed from District Police Office, Bajure led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Uddhav Singh Bhat detained the leaders and cadres including central committee member Chuda Mani Oli and district committee member Damm Sunar. “We have also recovered some important party dossiers from the arrestees,” informed DSP Bhat.
India’s Supreme Court on Saturday ruled in favor of a Hindu group in a long-running legal battle over a centuries-old religious site also claimed by Muslims, in a ruling that paves the way for the construction of a Hindu temple at the site.
The top court also directed that an alternate land parcel be provided to a Muslim group.
