Nostalgic about Holi

Nostalgic about Holi

Holi is all about festival of colors and water. However, every year there has been changes in the celebration of this festival.  While talking about my childhood days, I used to play Holi with a group of my friends. I remember the song sang during Holi—‘Jogira Sa Ra RaRa’. Though the excitement level is the same even today the way of playing it has been changed.

Currently, I am in Gujarat (India) pursuing my higher studies and celebrated it here. Quite interestingly, a few years back,I played Holi at Basantpur Durbar Square. It was a fantastic feeling being there and I still feel nostalgic about that day.Even today, I can vividly remember those musical concerts.

Meanwhile in my hometown, Bara, Holi is celebrated for two days that marks the triumph over the evil. There is a ritual process to symbolize the same — Holika Dahan as per Hindu Mythology.

However, in the name of festivity I don’t like people involved in unnecessary activities such as being irresponsible and throwing water balloons to anyone though that person is not celebrating Holi. Then, the environment gets polluted due to plastic pouches used to hit water.

And I believe in playing Holi safely and with responsibility.

Holi,
