KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Executive Committee of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), state-owned oil monopoly, has finally decided to take action against NOC Managing Director Gopal Khadka, who is implicated in land procurement scam worth 1.5 billion rupees.

Concluding that NOC would incur further loss, if MD Khadga continued remaining in the office even after being implicated in the land procurement scam for oil storage facilities in various districts, the committee recommended Minister for Supplies Shiva Kumar Mandal to take action against him.

A meeting of Parliament’s Industry Commerce and Consumers’ Rights Protection committee held on Monday concluded that MD Khad committed irregularities incurring loss of billions of rupees in land procurement against the existing land procurement act.
