NEPALGUNJ, Sept 12: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) Kamal Thapa on Monday said that there is no relevance of upcoming India visit by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Speaking at the press conference organized by Media Nepal, Banke Thapa said, "I don’t want to pass negative comments on the visit, but I have not understood the relevance and need for the tour.”  

Thapa argued that there is no need of visit as former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had visited the southern neighbor only six months ago.

 “Dahal has also already sent Deputy Prime Minister Bimalendra Nidhi and Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat to India", he said, "Now, there are no things left to be done by the Prime Minister.” 

Relation with India has not deteriorated, Thapa claimed. 

He added that the misunderstanding between Nepal and India was resolved through diplomatic initiatives by the previous government.

“The previous government had maintained a balance relation between the two countries,” he said adding: “The visit by the Prime Minister may impact the equilibrium.”

Claiming that the previous government had done important works to solve Madhes issue, Thapa claimed that incumbent government has done nothing more than expressing commitments.
