KATHMANDU, Jan 11: The government has clarified that there is no plan to recall Nepali ambassadors serving in various countries.


Issuing a press statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said the reports carried out by a section of media that the government was making necessary homework to recall Nepali envoys currently serving in different countries.

The MoFA in the statement said its attention was drawn by media reports that the government had already initiated homework to recall a few ambassadors. “It is informed that there is no truth in the news,” said the MoFA.


The MoFA has all concerned media persons to verify their information from official sources before disseminating them to the public.


The news reports that the government was preparing to recall some of the ambassadors close to Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) comes in the wake of the ruling party seeing a vertical split following the decision of Prime Minister K P Oli to dissolve the parliament and go to mid-term elections for April 30 and May 10.
