The nationwide FSU election is slated for Thursday.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday morning, Maheshwor Upadhaya, election officer at the campus, said the FSU elections will be held as per the scheduled time.
While condemning the incident, the committee said that an ´unidentified element´ set fire to the election committee´s office inside the campus with an intention to disrupt the ongoing election process. "This will not have any effects on the process and the election will be held on time," the statement said.
Representatives from the rival student organizations pointed fingers at each others over the incident. They had also engaged in verbal altercations on Wednesday morning over the fire incident.
