No change of government: PM Oli

KATHMANDU, July 7: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the incumbent government might be expanded in few days. 

Addressing the national consultation seminar entitled 'Challenges seen in land management and solution' organized by the Ministry of Land Reform and Management here on Thursday, PM Oli said, "The talk of government change is only a rumor. It will not be perturbed." 

The Prime Minister on the occasion expressed the commitment that the government would implement the plans as per its policy and program. He expressed the belief that the deliberations on identification of land-related problems and finding an appropriate way for their resolution that would be held in course of the seminar would be fruitful. 

Minister for Land Reform and Management Ram Kumar Subba said that although it was the responsibility of his Ministry to protect the immovable property of all the citizens, the record-keeping system in the ministry was not reliable. 

Minister of State Bikram Bahadur Thapa acknowledged that managing the landless squatters was a challenge and that many who should have been issued with the landownership certificates have not got it. 

Assistant Minister Dinesh Shrestha spoke of the need of resolving the land-related issues in a scientific way. 

Lawmaker Badri Pandey said all the political parties should have a common view regarding managing the landless farmers. Another lawmaker Keshab Badal suggested distributing land to the landless on the basis of social justice and aimed at increasing the productivity of the land. 

Member of the National Planning Commission (NPC), Bijaya Kunwar underlined the need of effectively implementing the landuse policy that has been framed with the joint efforts of all sides. RSS
