KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) is vehemently urging a thorough investigation and appropriate action against the officials of the Nepal Medical Council and CIB investigators who were involved in the wrongful arrest of an innocent doctor. The incident has caused significant harm, both to the doctor's reputation and mental well-being.
The medical association has strongly condemned the arrest of Dr Ranjit Kumar Yadav, a respected lifelong member of their organization. They emphasize that this incident not only raises serious concerns about the violation of basic human rights but also sheds light on the urgency for a comprehensive review of the circumstances leading to the arrest.

The Nepal Medical Association is demanding a full-scale inquiry into the matter, with subsequent action taken against those responsible for this unfortunate incident. They highlight that misinformation provided by a council officer during the Nepal Police's campaign against fake doctors led to the mistaken arrest by the CIB.
In an official statement, the NMA underscores that unless the gravity of the situation is recognized and appropriate legal measures are taken promptly, the Association will have no choice but to initiate stringent measures.
