KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has agreed to withdraw the protest and agreed to resume all health services following talks with the government.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), there was an agreement between the government and the NMA representative at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers this morning to withdraw the ongoing protest.

On behalf of the government, Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Dr Ganesh Pandey, led the talks team, while NMA President Dr Lochan Karkiled the talks team on behalf of the agitating doctors.

On Friday, the NMA announced to halt all services of the hospital, except for emergencies protesting against police assaults on a doctor at the National Trauma Center. Due to lack of prior notice, patients who visited the hospital for regular check-ups have been left in problem.
