Human Rights Film Center (HRFC) is organizing the ninth virtual Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival in Nepal.
4th Nepal Human Rights Int’l Film Festival kicking off today
HRFC has been organizing the Nepal International Human Rights Film Festival (NHRIFF) every year. Considering the difficulties due to the pandemic, the 9th edition of NHRIFF began on November 22 on an online platform.
According to a press statement released by HRFC, a total of 42 films from 24 different countries have been shortlisted for the screening. The festival has a lineup of different genres of films including feature, documentary, short movie, and animation.
The festival continues till November 25 on the online platform--https://9nhriff.muvi.com. Moreover, the discussion series on the theme of human rights in Kathmandu valley and more will be carried out through Zoom.
Discussion series will be conducted with film directors, filmmakers, and films artist on different topics such as "Role of cinema to prevent violence against women, empowerment, Right and inclusion", "Impact of COVID on human rights,” along with a master class.
This festival is supported by the European Union, PLAN International, ICJ, Art and Humanities Research Council, University of Lincoln, MAP, Arts for peace, International Organization for Migration (IOM), and CSOs and networks and co-organized by the National Human Rights Commission and Embassy of Canada in Nepal.
