KATHMANDU, July 29: A ninth grader from Parbat today operated various scientific equipments he had made, at the office of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS).

Aman Poudel from the Himalaya Higher Secondary School in Parbat demonstrated operating the prototype hydraulic excavator, a fan and a steamer made by using various throwaway materials like syringes, plastic pipes, wood and paper.

Interested in toy vehicles since childhood, Aman was inspired to make various scientific equipments when he was handed a toy vehicle by his father while he was studying in grade four.

So far Aman has made various equipments like robot, earthquake alarm, projector, hill climbing car, steamer and vaccum cleaner using scrap materials like paper, wood and syringes.

Earlier, he also demonstrated these equipments at the Science Exhibition in Damauli, Tanahun, the Department of Education and the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology.

"I just tried to apply scientific principles at first. I became successful in making these equipments eventually while practising these scientific principles," said elated Aman.

Sharing his son's success with the RSS, Aman's father Anandaraj said that he is all happy with his son for his success. RSS
