KATHMANDU, Dec 28: The home ministry has recommended the names of nine Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) for promotion to the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

A meeting of the Promotion Committee held on Monday made the recommendation to this effect. Seven of those recommended for promotion are the batch mates of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shailesh Thapa while two others are the batch mates of Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Bishwa Raj Pokhrel. 

The list of SSPs recommended for promotion to DIG:

1. Ganesh Bahadur Air

2. Purushottam Kandel

3. Rajesh Kumar Lal Karn

4. Dr Dev Bahadur Bohora

5. Dibesh Lohani 

6. Ram Kripal Shah 

7. Umesh Ranjitkar

8. Prakash Adhikari 

9. Mukunda Raj Acharya
