BHIMDATTANAGAR, Aug 27: The district administration in Kanchanpur has decided to impose a curfew at Bhimdattanagar tonight.

According to the Kanchanpur District Administration Office, the curfew order shall remain in force from 6:00 pm today to 5:00 am tomorrow, Tuesday. It is applied at various places of wards 4, 6 and 18 of the Bhimdatta municipality. Prior to this, the local administration had issued a curfew order here from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm today and a meeting of the District Coordination Committee concluded a while ago agreed to change in the schedule of curfew order, Chief District Officer, Taranath Adhikari said. 

The Mahendranagar bazaar has remained open following the decision to reschedule the curfew. However, educational institutions have remained closed. The local administration clamped a curfew from Friday following tense situation occurred after a 14-year-old boy was killed in police firing during the people's protest against the rape and murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta of Kholti in Bhimdatta municipality-2 last month.  RSS
