NIC Asia opens five branch offices

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): NIC Asia Bank has inaugurated branch office in five new locations across the country. According to the bank, the new branch offices have been opened in Bardaghat, Tansen, Lamki, Tikapur and Dhankuta. The bank has said that it would open new branch offices in other parts of the country to provide easy banking services to its customers.

NIBL to acquire Ace Development Bank

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA):The Special General Meeting of Nepal Investment Bank Ltd (NIBL) on Friday approved a proposal of its board of directors (BOD) to acquire Ace Development Bank Ltd. Issuing a statement, NIBL said the two entities will provide consolidated service in the name of Nepal Investment Bank Ltd after the acquisition process. NIBL claims that it has highest paid-up capital of Rs 8.7 billion among all banks and financial institutions of the country. "NIBL has been providing banking services to its customers through 47 branch offices and 84 ATM outlets all over the country," the statement added.

Janata Bank, Triveni Dev Bank complete merger

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Janata Bank Nepal Ltd and Triveni Development Bank Ltd have completed their merger process. Issuing a statement on Friday, Janata Bank said that Governor of Nepal Rastriya Bank (NRB), Chiranjibi Nepal, inaugurated the merged entity. "The total paid-up capital of the bank has now reached Rs 4.72 billion,” the statement added.  The bank is providing service from its 73 branch offices, 38 ATM outlets and 19 branchless banking units.

WaiWai to encourage people to help road-accident victims

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): WaiWai says it is organizing the BanauAdarshNagarik campaign where it will issue a series of social messages through TV commercials highlighting the value of honesty, integrity and working for the wellbeing of others. “Through our commercials, we will encourage people to help victims of road accidents. Currently, many victims of road accidents are losing their lives due to delay in treatment. The campaign will encourage pedestrian to help take the injured to the nearest hospital. The campaign aims to make the general public an ideal citizen,” WaiWai said in a statement. WaiWai is also offering to financially compensate the good samaritans for expenses incurred while transporting accident victims to hospitals. "WaiWai offers a pre-defined financial assistance of Rs 1,100 as compensation toward the expenses incurred in bringing the accident victim to the hospital. This will reduce the hesitance of public coming forward to aid of the injured," it said. The company is partnering with Nepal Traffic Police and Nepal Road Safety Program to help the accident victims. The company said it believed the campaign could create an environment where people will not be afraid to step forward and help road-accident victims.
 
Everest Bank opens ATM kiosk in Kamal Pokhari

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Everest Bank Ltd has inaugurated its 88th ATM kiosk at Jain Bhawan in Kamal Pokhari, Kathmandu. Issuing a statement, the bank said the ATM was inaugurated by Ram S Sangapure, the executive director of Punjab National Bank. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Everest Bank Chief Executive Officer Someshwar Seth, senior officials of the bank, and local dignitaries, it said. The bank operates through 60 branches, six extension counters, 88 ATM counters, and 25 revenue collection counters.
