NHRC concerned by obstructions in its regular duties

KATHMANDU, March 9: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has criticized the incident of vehicular attacks carried out by the UDMF cadres while carrying out its official duties.

Specially, human rights body has expressed its concerns over the vandalism on its vehicles while carrying out its official duties especially in the Tarai region.

The cadres of Madhes-based parties, who have staging movements demanding endorsement of the constitution amendment bill, had attacked vehicles used by the human rights body.

The protestors had vandalized the vehicle used by a human rights team led by NHRC spokesperson Mohana Ansari.

The vandalism took place when the team was returning after inspecting the death of a protestor who was killed in the police action three days ago.

The NHRC has termed these activities as against the norms of values of human right.

The irate protestors also vandalized vehicle, Ba 7 Cha 7473 and Ba 7 Cha 7479 used by NHRC in Saptari district on March 9 and 7.

The human rights body also demanded with the government that the involved the in vandalism be brought to book without delay for its smooth functioning.
