KATHMANDU, March 2: Madhav Kumar Nepal, the chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has expressed that the upcoming President should prioritize advancing the national interest, safeguarding patriotism, and defending the nation's dignity.
He said this while talking to media persons after the orientation program of 8 party parliamentarians held in Kathmandu on Thursday.

He insisted that there is a need for clarity about the duties and responsibilities of the president. He said that the president should move ahead with protecting the constitution. Mentioning that there are many challenges facing the nation, he said that it is necessary to unite the national powers keeping this in mind.
He said, “There is a need for clarity about the duties and responsibilities of the president. Promotion of national interests, protection of patriotism, protection of national self-respect, promotion of national interest should be kept at the center. Protecting the constitution should be kept at the center. Many challenges are coming in front of the nation, attention should be paid to it, and all national powers should be united.”
Nepal believed that the President who will be elected will do his work seriously, taking into account the experiences gained so far.
