Next PM election on Aug 23

KATHMANDU, Aug 18: A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Parliament on Wednesday scheduled the fifth round of the election of Prime Minister at 3 p.m. on August 23.



The meeting was held at the CA Building after major political parties -- UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML -- reached an understanding to defer election originally scheduled for Wednesday.[break]



The parties had agreed to defer the prime ministerial election and to pay tribute to Maoist lawmaker Ram Kumari Yadav, who succumbed to burn injuries on Saturday.
