Newly elected Kathmandu metropolis mayor vows to not let voters' trust fade away

KATHMANDU, May 28: The newly elected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has promised to not renege on his election promises.

KATHMANDU, May 28: The newly elected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidhyasundar Shakya has promised to not renege on his election promises.


Issuing a press release on Sunday after he was declared winner in the mayoral race held on May 14 in various local units including Kathmandu Metropolitan City under the first-phase local polls, he said he would discharge the responsibility as  a mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City honestly.

He added that voters in Kathmandu Metropolitan City have given him that responsibility with great trust.


In the press release, he has also expressed deep gratitude to the party he belongs to for trusting him in advance as an ideal mayoral candidate. He has also said he is grateful to party cadres, well-wishers and voters for their support that brought him to the mayoral position.
