The recommendation committee, chaired by Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, had recommended the names of Dr Paudel, Acting Governor Neelam Dhungana Timilsina, and former Secretary Dinesh Bhattrai.
Paudel believes that plans should be designed in detail and implemented down to the grassroot level. He holds the view that banking sector capital should be distributed in the form of loans to smaller sections, rather than being concentrated within a single group or family. His understanding is that financial resources should prioritize the lower levels in order to reduce the gap between the rich and the poor.
Soon after taking the oath, Governor Paudel is expected to arrive at the central office of NRB in Baluwatar to assume his duties.
