KATHMANDU, August 6: The new physical infrastructure to be built now will be differently-abled friendly, said Finance Minister Janardan Sharma.
During a meeting with the representatives of Spinal Cord Injury Network Nepal at the Ministry on Thursday, Minister Sharma said that public structures would be made disability-friendly.
Representatives of the Network demanded that public places should be disability-friendly, tax exemption on import of three-wheeled vehicles, and health care for people with disabilities due to spinal injuries should be readily available.
Minister Sharma assured that the new structure would be made disability-friendly even though the old structure could not be made friendly to disabled people as per the request of the delegation.
He also informed that efforts are being made to find a policy solution to address the problems of the injured and differently-abled.
