KATHMANDU, March 19: Twelve earthquake-resistant houses were handed over to twelve victims of the earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25, 2015 at Bhangal of Budhanilkantha-2, Kathmandu on Saturday.
The victims who were lucky enough to live in an earthquake -resistant house handed over by philanthropists belong to the Dalit community.
Amid a function organized by Nepal Settlement Conservation Society(NSCS) and Kalika Conservation and Management Committee(KCMC) on Saturday, the keys of the twelve houses were handed over to twelve victims of the earthquake. Sabin Limbu, one of the two persons who collected fund from their friends for the construction of those twelve houses was also formally honored at the program.
Babin KC and Sabin Limbu who are studying at a university in Canada had raised fund for the construction of the twelve earthquake-resistant houses.
“What we have done is not help. It is only the fulfillment of our social responsibility”, said Sabin Limbu
