KATHMANDU, Sept 28: As many as 50 street children received a set of new cloth distributed by a social organization- Dinanath Foundation on Wednesday.
Foundation's President Durganath Dahal shared that those children from impoverished families and living either in street or around temple premises in Mahankal Mandir, Sankata Mandir and Bhadrakali Mandir among others were given new clothes on the occasion of Dashain.
People wearing new clothes, visiting temples and receiving Tika and blessings from their elders are an important part of the festival.
Social worker Dahal said that the clothes were purchased from the money collected from the philanthropic Nepalis abroad. He explained, "Some 20 Nepalis abroad saved some money from their pocket money and sent around Rs 50,000 through me for social causes back home."
The poor and needy children were seemingly elated having received clothes during the festival.(RSS)
