New books in Nepali market

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Ghintang Ghisi Twak is a poetry collection by Rupesh Shrestha. The collection of eloquent poems was released on Friday at Nepal Pragya Pratishtan, Kamaladi. “It felt like carrying a newborn baby but with a name,” said Rupesh Shrestha on Sept 11 after receiving the first copy of his book.

Hansa is a novel by Sanjeev Uprety, a former professor of English at Tribhuvan University. The book will be released Saturday. The book is a love story with a particular focus on birds. 

Hajuraamako Katha: This book by Amrita Lamsal is a collection of women’s stories captured through their lens. A dozen elderly women were honored during the launch of this book last Saturday. 

Pratigandha is a novel written by Sarubhakta (Bhakta Raj Shrestha), a well-known Nepali novelist, playwright, poet, and songwriter. Sarubhakta is bringing a book after more than a decade.

Chhaya ko Laskar: Prime Minister KP Oli released professor KR Khambu’s memoir Chhaya Ko Laskar amid a special function at the prime minister’s residence on Thursday. The book talks about political events, the leftist movement, and the Jhapa rebellion in 1969.
