KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The newly-appointed chief minister (CM) of Bagmati Province, Rajendra Pandey took the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday. 

Bagmati Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma administered the oath to Pandey as the chief minister of Bagmati Province. 

Pandey was appointed as the CM after incumbent Chief Minister Ashta Laxmi Shakya resigned from the post. She decided to step down on Wednesday after she fell in minority. 

A leader of CPN (Unified Socialist), Chief Minister Pandey commands the support of Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP). Pandey has formed a cabinet with one minister each from the Maoist Center and the Unified Socialist parties.
