KATHMANDU,
According to an announcement made on Tuesday, Netflix will bring about a real life Squid Game series claimed to be the biggest reality competition ever.
The streamer reported that the Challenge will have 456 players competing in a series of games for the chance to win $4,560,000. It would also offer the biggest prize in reality TV history.
‘Red Notice,’ ‘Squid Game’ top Netflix hours-watched metric
The 10-episode reality show will be filmed in the UK. Players will compete through a series of games inspired by the original show as well as surprising new additions. According to Netflix, unlike in the Netflix drama, players in Squid Game won't be harmed and will leave the competition 'unscathed'.
Netflix is seeking contestants from around the world, but they must understand and speak English. Those taking part must be at least 21 years old and are available for up to four weeks in early 2023 for filming. Along with that, the criteria set for the application process is that participants need to send Netflix a one-minute video explaining about them, their willingness to participate, their strategy during the games and what they opt with the prize received.
Squid Game is a South Korean survival drama television series created by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix. It was released worldwide on September 17, 2021 which became the most-watched series and top-viewed program in 94 countries.
The announcement of the reality game show follows the news that Netflix renewed Squid Game for season 2 in June. However, Netflix didn't reveal when the series will be released.
