Nepse rises by 52.31 points on Thursday

KATHMANDU, March 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) that kept falling successively for the past few days, escalated by a double-digit point on Thursday.

The secondary market that opened at 2,514.58 points, increased by 52.31 points to close at 2,566.90 points. The market plunged as low as 2,499.16 points within a few minutes of the starting of the intraday trading before it went into an upward trend.

All 13 groups witnessed gains in their average share prices. Among them, life-insurance, non-life insurance, development bank, manufacturing and hydropower gained three digit points, shows the records with Nepse. The sensitive index also rose by 6.34 points, ensuring a growth of 1.3 percent in shares prices of ‘A’ class companies.

Along with the Nepse index, the total turnover amount stood at Rs 2.79 billion, an increase from the single-day trading of Rs 2.35 billion on Wednesday.

Regarding the individual companies, there was a transaction of shares of Api Power Company Limited worth Rs 166.52 million, the largest one. Emerging Nepal Limited was the top gainer while Mountain Energy Nepal lost the maximum value in its shares price. Nepse listed the primary shares of Emerging Nepal Limited at the secondary market on Sunday.
