KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday fell marginally by 0.41 points to close at 2,183.21 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,183.62 points and went to the day’s high at 2,201.64 points in the first hour of trading. However, the market declined by around 18 points in the remaining trading hours before the market closed for the day.
The daily turnover fell by a notable amount to Rs 2.86 billion from Rs 3.46 billion on Wednesday.
In the intraday trading, 101 companies gained in their market value whereas 107 companies were the losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies declined 1.10 points.
Seven out of the 13 trading groups lost in their market value. Of the six gainers, non-life-insurance gained the highest of 139.09 points.
In individual companies, Samriddhi Finance Company Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 97.09 million. The company was registered as the top loser. Lumbini General Insurance was the topmost gainer of the day.
