Nepse records a fall of 39.15 points, daily turnover hits Rs 1.40 billion on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday declined by 39.15 points to close at 1,917.22 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,956.36 points and went to day’s high at 1,967.63 points within a few minutes after the trading started for the day. However, the market went to a freefall in the later on, which according to the stockbrokers was due to the protest launched by private sectors against the excessive hike in interest rates by the banks.

The daily turnover rose to Rs 1.40 billion, around Rs 40 billion more than the transaction volume of the previous day.  All 13 trading groups were recorded in loss, while five of them had a decline of three-digit points.

In individual companies, NESDO Sambridha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 67.82 million. Excel Development Bank was the topmost loser whereas Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company gained the highest percent in its share price.
