KATHMANDU, April 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell by 46.46 points to close at 2,452.06 points on Tuesday, posting a double-digit fall for three consecutive days of this week.


The market that opened at 2,498.53 points went into a straight fall in intraday trading. Amid the depleting confidence of investors, the country’s secondary market lost around 92 points on the first three days of the week.

The single-day turnover, however, hit Rs 2.67 billion from Rs 1.58 billion on Monday. Among individual companies, Himalayan Distillery Limited secured the largest transaction amount of its shares worth Rs 96.79 million.


Except for hotels and tourism, the rest of the 12 trading groups posted red due to a fall in the average prices of their shares. Life insurance and non-life insurance fell by 432.28 points and 346.84 points, respectively. 


Emerging Nepal Limited was the top loser of the day while NESDO Sambridha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha gained the largest point percent.
