KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday plummeted by 51.11 points to close at 2,702.65 points.
The market opened at 2,753.76 points, initially adding around five points in the first five minutes of trading. The market, however, could not retain its charm as the index declined and reached the day’s low at 2,697.81 points when the trading time was left for four minutes. The market recovered five points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, declined 7.74 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 10.46 billion from Rs 11.72 billion on Sunday. The government declared a public holiday on Monday to mourn the demise of former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana.
Among individual companies, only 20 were gainers whereas 224 companies were recorded as the losers. All the 13 groups were the losers in the intraday trading. Life insurance lost the largest of 262.63 points, while a total of six groups were the losers of three-digit points in their indices.
Ngadi Group Power Ltd with a single day turnover of its shares worth Rs 466.89 million led the segment. The company, with a fall of 9.25 percent of its market value, was also the biggest loser for the day. Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the topmost gainer of 10 percent of its market price.
