KATHMANDU, July 13: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday declined 12.62 points to close at 2,084.93 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,097.55 points and rose to the day’s high to 2,121.6 points in the first one hour of trading. But the index went into a straight fall in the remaining trading hours.

In the intraday trading, 165 listed companies lost while 54 companies had their market values increased. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies lost 0.90 points.
Out of the 13 trading groups, 10 were losers, with life insurance being the biggest loser, shedding 135.35 points. Among three, hotels and tourism, banking and mutual fund were the gainers.
The daily turnover amount stood at Rs 3.390 billion, up from Rs 3.187 billion on Wednesday. According to stockbrokers, investors rushed to book their profits that led to a decline in the market index while raising the volume of transactions.
Among individual companies, Shivam Cements had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 237.59 million. Peoples Hydropower Company Limited lost the highest of 6.05 percent of its market price, while NMB Debenture 2085 was recorded as the biggest gainer.
