Nepse mulls over opening secondary market six days a week

KATHMANDU, June 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) is considering opening the secondary market for stock transactions six days a week.



According to a Nepse official, the frontline regulator has started a homework to carry out trading from Sunday to Friday. As of now, the stocks trading are being done in the secondary market for only five days a week.

After the government declared a two-day weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Nepse switched trading to Friday instead of Sunday. With the government withdrawing the provision that will come into effect from next week, Nepse is considering continuing the transaction also on Friday, for two and a half hours starting from 11:00 AM.
