KATHMANDU, August 8: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday declined 17.68 points to close at 2,106.15 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,123.82 points and rose to the day’s maximum of 2,140.08 points in the first hour of the trading. The market remained almost stable for the next one hour before going down to lose 0.83 percent in overall trading.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
The sensitive index that measures performance of the blue chips companies also declined 3.44 points. The turnover amount stood at Rs 2.85 billion, marginally higher than Rs 2.67 billion on Sunday.
Except for manufacturing and processing and mutual fund, the remaining 11 groups lost in the average value of their shares. Shivam Cements had a transaction of its shares worth Rs 207.16 million, the largest of all. Janaki Finance Company Limited lost the biggest percent while Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the topmost gainer of the day.
