Nepse loses 11.82 points on Tuesday, the second day double-digit fall

KATHMANDU, June 28: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday fell 11.82 points to close at 1,921.31 points.

After soaring by 95 points on Sunday, the market reaped some hope among the investors which has crippled with a two consecutive day fall in the Nepse index. On Monday too, the market declined by 23.85 points.

The market opened at 1,933.13 points and went on a series of fluctuation in the intraday trading. Along with a double-digit fall, the turnover amount also dropped to Rs 1.05 billion, half of the single-day transaction in each of the previous two days.

Except banking and life-insurance, which increased by nominal points, the rest of the trading groups lost in their average share prices. The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also declined 3.22 points.

Asian Life Insurance Company Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 73.13 million. Laxmi Equity Fund was the highest loser while CYC Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the top gainer.
