KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday increased marginally by 4.62 points to close at 2,100.70 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,096.08 points and went through a wide range of fluctuation throughout the trading hours. The index went to the day’s low at 2,087.7 points while it rose to as high as 2,102.55 points.
The daily turnover fell further to Rs 1.474 billion from Rs 1.931 billion on Sunday.
A total of 104 companies gained in their market value whereas 95 companies were the losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also increased 1.89 points.
Out of the 13 trading groups, five including life insurance, non-life insurance, trading, mutual funds and others lost in their market prices. Of the gainers, manufacturing and processing added the highest value of 70.44 points in its market value.
Among individual companies, the shares of NIC Asia Bank posted the largest transaction amount worth Rs 64.57 million. Adarsha Laghubitta Bittiiya Sanstha was the biggest gainer, while Laxmi Bank Debenture 2088 lost the highest percent of its market value.
