KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday surged by 17.80 points to close at 2,775.85 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,758.04 points and surged to the day’s high at 2,793.03 points in the first seven minutes of trading. The index however slid to the day’s low at 2,752.42 points in the next two hours. The market bounced back 23 points in the remaining time before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, decreased marginally by 0.58 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 8.52 billion from Rs 10.54 billion on Monday.
Seven groups were listed as gainers, with the trading index soaring by 301.75 points. Out of the six losers, hotels and tourism index declined 124.67 points.
Among individual companies, 142 were gainers while 97 lost in their market values. Ngadi Group Power Ltd had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 267.43 million.
Two companies including Ingwa Hydropower Limited and Dibyashwori Hydropower Ltd were recorded as the topmost gainers. Upper Syange Hydropower Limited, with a decline of 9.51 percent in its market price, was the highest loser.
