Nepse increased by 19.86 points last week

KATHMANDU, March 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) increased by 19.86 points last week.

In a four-day trading session last week, the secondary market opened at 2,547.04 points and closed at 2,566.90 points. The market lost 3.66 points on Sunday while it inched up 1.55 points on Monday.

Due to a public holiday, the market remained closed on Tuesday. On the two remaining days, the market declined by 30.36 points on Wednesday before it escalated by 52.31 points on Thursday.

Despite a rise in index, the traded number of shares and transaction amount, however, declined last week. The market witnessed turnover of Rs 10.23 billion from trading of 21,025,081 units of shares compared to 22,527,682 units worth Rs 10.55 billion of the previous week.

The market capitalization increased from Rs 3.607 trillion to Rs 3.637 trillion. As a result, the investors earned Rs 29.93 billion during the review period.
