KATHMANDU, June 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday increased marginally by 3.21 points to close at 2,066.16 points.
The market opened at 2,062.94 points and increased to the day’s high at 2,079.37 points in the first one hour. However, the index went to a steady fall in the successive trading hours and hit the day’s low at 2,059.14 points before the last 20 minutes of the trading ended for the day. In the remaining period, the market recovered around seven points.
NEPSE inches up 6.94 points; daily turnover increases slightly...
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies added 0.39 points. The daily turnover rose to Rs 5.07 billion from Rs 4.37 billion on Sunday.
Out of the 13 groups, six were the gainers. Development bank group was the highest gainer of 63 points. Of the losers, life insurance shed the largest of 18.77 points.
Among individual companies, 142 were recorded as gainers whereas 94 were the losers.
Mero Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 243.21 million. Nepal Finance Ltd was the topmost gainer and Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company Limited lost the highest of 7.01 percent of its market price.
