KATHMANDU, June 26: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday added 11.69 points to close at 2,129.42 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,117.73 points and hit the day’s high at 2,154.86 points within the first hour of trading. The index then fell to 2,128.94 points in the next half an hour, while it remained almost stable throughout the remaining hours.
In the intraday trading, 123 listed companies gained in their market values while 98 companies were recorded as losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies also added 3.66 points.

Five out of the 13 trading groups lost in their market values. Non-life insurance had its index decline 112.55 points, the biggest of all. It was followed by hydropower, life insurance, ‘others’ and trading.
Of the eight gainers, investors in microfinance cheered with 151.49 points. Four others gained double-digit points.
The daily turnover amount stood at Rs 5.312 billion, down from Rs 6.490 billion on Sunday. In recent times, the market turnover has been escalating above Rs 2 billion almost every day.
Among individual companies, Shivam Cements had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 420.59 million. Himalayan Life Insurance Limited was the topmost gainer while Super Madi Hydropower Limited lost the highest percent of its market price.
