KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday declined by 6.32 points to close at 2,669.82 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,676.15 points and reached the day’s high at 2,694.85 points in the first 15 minutes of trading. In the next few minutes, the index went down and hovered at around 2,682 points for the next one and a half hours. The market dropped to the day’s low at 2,660.7 points when the last one hour was left in trading time. The market recovered around nine points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, decreased 0.75 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 4.41 billion from Rs 5.62 billion on Monday.
Only four groups including manufacturing and processing, hotels and tourism, trading and microfinance were the gainers, while manufacturing and processing added the highest of 22.88 points. Of the nine losers, life insurance declined by the largest of 131.60 points.
Among the individual companies, 85 were gainers while 148 lost in their market values. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited enjoyed the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 189.62 million. The company was also recorded as the highest loser of 8.64 percent. Joshi Hydropower Development Company, by adding 7.67 percent to its market price, was the largest gainer.
