Nepathya performs in Dubai

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: Nepathya completed its live-in concert in Dubai for a third time on Sunday at Al Nasr Leisureland.

According to a statement issued by Nepalaya, Nepathya started their performance with the first song 'Ho Rama Rama'. The band also performed their various popular songs including 'Chhekyo Chhekyo', 'Lampate Surati', 'Chari Maryo', 'Yo Jindagani', 'Sirfula Siraima', 'Gaun Gaun Bata Utha - Basti Basti Bata Utha', 'Mai Nache Cham Chami', 'Taal Ko Pani' and 'Resham', 'Rato Ra Chandra Surya', which are linked with political consciousness.

"We have come as a group of 17 friends," Sanyam Lamichhane, an audience member who was found inside Al Nasser's compound, said. He added, "Even though I grew up listening to Nepathya's songs since childhood, I never got the chance to see a concert because of my hostel life at Budhanilkantha School. After coming abroad for my higher education, I finally got this opportunity."

“While mentioning that there has been a lot of upheaval in the politics of the country, there has been no change in the situation of Nepalis,” Amrit Gurung, founder and lead singer of the band said. He expressed the hope that one day the destiny of the country will change from the people's level after the return of the Nepalis living abroad.

"With the presence of Nepathya, both music and love for the country come together," Laxman Khanal, president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, UAE, responded after the concert. "In terms of presentation, I found the Nepathya concert more excellent than the previous experience," he said.

"This was a long-standing dream project rather than a commercial idea," organizer Ashish Purush said. Purush added, "My dream of bringing Nepathya and presenting a good concert has come true."
