KATHMANDU: A signature Nepathya hit song came alive in Bhairahawa as they performed here at the grounds of Paklihawa High School. The dense fog served as a natural haze for the stage and the ambience it created with the lights looked phenomenal. 

 As the Tamang community celebrated their new year Lhosar, many people visited Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha. In the neighboring city of Bhairahawa, thousands had gathered to celebrate 25 years of Nepathya’s contribution to Nepali music.

According to the press statement by Nepa-laya, the show that started with ‘Kuroop Anuhar’ went ahead with a snowfall effect synchronized ‘Bhedako Oon Jasto’ and Nepathya’s signature hit ‘Chekyo Chekyo’. With these three back to back performance, Nepathya frontman Amrit Gurung bowed and said, “Namaste Bhairahawa…..I have never had the experience to perform this song of mist and haze with so much natural fog. We always created artificial smoke and haze on stage, but today it is all natural. It feels great.” 

He was referring to the intense fog and cold wave in Bhairahawa and the southern plains of Nepal. “Bhairahawa holds a lot of childhood memories in me and this show will remain as a memorable one for me, am sure.” He then went on to sing ‘Aaganai Bhari’, Nepathya’s first recording.
 Though the climate was covered with cold wave, both the stage and the audience had started to warm up and the warm synergy between them continued for the next two hours.

 The power packed two hour show was a mixture of Nepathya’s classic hits ‘Jomsome bazaar’, Chari maryo’, ‘Resham’, ‘Taal ko Paani’ to fresh releases like ‘Koshi ko Paani, Sirfula’ and social numbers which included ‘Hami Nepali’, ‘Gaun Gaun bata Utha’ and ‘Rato ra Chandra Surya’.
As the show continued, Gurung did not miss out to talk about the movement of public health, education and integrity initiated by Dr Govinda KC. He expressed concerns on medical education and the issue of medical college in Bhairahawa failing to attract students this year. 

“I wish the medical college’s management focuses on public service and hence gain public acceptability and credibility. I hope to hear about this medical college achieving a landmark status in Bhairahawa. My best wishes to Bhairahawa.” 

As usual Amrit was accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on madal. The tri-city tour was organized as part of the 25th year celebration of Nepathya.
