KATHMANDU, Nov 21: Nepal was once again forced to share a point in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifying Series Asia Region on Tuesday.

After the match against Hong Kong was washed due to bad pitch condition following the rain, at Terdthai Cricket Ground, Bangkok, Nepal was forced to share a point for the second time in the tournament.

Earlier, Nepal had earned just one point from its first match against host team Thailand on Monday after it was halted due to rain. With just two points from similar number of the matches, Nepal finds itself in the fourth position in the table. Since only the top two teams from the six-team contest qualify for the Global Qualifier, a gateway for Women’s World Twenty20, Nepal will have to gather maximum points from the upcoming fixtures.

Nepal will take on United Arab Emirates (UAE) in its third match on Thursday and win in the match is must to keep the hope of securing its place in the Global Qualifiers alive.

Currently Hong Kong leads the table with three points acquired from two matches and it will face China on the same day.

Meanwhile, home team Thailand defeated UAE by 10 wickets in the second match of the day and jumped to the second place in the points table. Thailand will play against Malaysia in its third match of the competition.
