NUWAKOT (Thanapati), Jan 15: Nepalis living in Switzerland have come to the help of the victims of the earthquake of April 25, 2015 by constructing a school building in Nuwakot.
The building was built for a primary school damaged by the quake with financial aid from Nepali Samaj, Basel, Switzerland, an organization of Nepalis living in Switzerland.
According to Rajendra Bahadur Lama, chairman of Himalaya Peace Education Foundation, an NGO operating in Nepal, through which the donation amount was released, the project
costs approximately Rs 1.45 million.
The newly constructed building was recently inaugurated by Maheshwor Pandey, chief of Thanapati resource centre under the District Education Office. The primary school has more than two dozen students.
Addressing the inauguration programme, the Nepali Samaj member Prabin Kumar Magar expressed happiness over their help to construct a building for a quake damaged school.
He said the donation amount was collected by making and selling Nepali dishes and through various creative programs in Switzerland. RSS
