Nepali teenage girl raped in India

KATHMANDU, July 4: A Nepali teenage girl who stayed in New-Delhi has been raped on June 30, 2019.

The girl who is a permanent resident of Saahil rural municipality-4 in Doti was raped by the son of the owner of the house where she used to stay.

The rapist has been identified as Pankaj Singh, 33, a son of Dalbir Singh who serves as a Sub-Inspector at Delhi Police.

The rapist Pankaj is a married man. He has two children.  

A medical report conducted with the help of Nepali Jana Samparka Samiti, a Nepali organization based in Delhi and Maiti India, confirmed that she was raped.

A court hearing has already been held. But it has yet to issue a final verdict.

Since the rapist is a son of the Sub-Inspector, it was difficult to arrest him.

The rapist was arrested three days after the incident. The team led by Bal Krishna Pandey, Delhi-based Nepal embassy, and Ministries of Home and External Affairs of India had taken the initiative in getting the rapist arrested.
